GC Provisional Handicap Opportunity
We know that many members at SCCC are interested in Golf Croquet (GC). Some of the anticipated GC events we would like to offer in the near future will require a handicap - including Hi-Low doubles, Waterford Doubles, and Advantage Play GC. Our clinic and tournament leaders also benefit from knowing player handicaps.
If you are a golf croquet player who has yet to receive a GC handicap, has a USCA handicap of 20, or would like an opportunity to lower your current handicap to more accurately reflect your skills, please consider attending a "provisional handicap skills" test session. The USCA has created a new test format, and Michael Albert has trained some of us in managing these sessions. A typical session will last 30+ minutes, and we can accommodate up to 8 players at a time with multiple stations run as a course. Points are scored for each successful attempt at such activities as the set shot, wicket running, blocking, wiring, stop shots, clearing shots, etc. Accumulated point scores place each player in a provisional handicap bracket, and the results are provided to Michael Albert who establishes your final handicap and forwards it to USCA. Voila, you're handicapped!
Our next provisional handicapping skills testing will be on Saturday January 7th and Saturday January 14th at 10:00am on court 4.
If you play with the Saturday morning GC group, you can show up, skip game 1 to attend the skills testing, then join the group for the 2nd game at 11:00a.
We hope to offer additional dates for this during the weekdays, this will be based upon needs and member response.
